Catch Up Class Week 1 - Wednesday Slow Flow Class

Duration: 1hr 18 minutes

Emphasis:  The Five Elements (Pancha Bhuta). We start this half-term with the Earth Element (Bhumi or Prithvi) so this class focusses on your foundation, your stability, strength and the support of the earth. At the beginning I give you a short overview of the elements and then explain how the Throughout the Sun Salutation sequence you'll be staying low to the ground with poses such as Lizard Pose (Pristhasana), Sphynx Pose (Salamba Bhujangasana) and Goddess Pose (Utkata Konasana) plus some leg lifts and some squats. A seated sequence follows which includes some twists and forward bends and then leg stretches lead you into Savasana.

Props needed: 2 blocks and bricks, a blanket and a yoga belt.

Mat direction: Short edge of the mat facing the screen.
