Catch Up Class Week 1 - Wednesday Slow Flow Class

Duration: 1 hr 17 minutes

Emphasis:  The theme of this class is Muladhara Chakra. If you've ever been curious about chakras this class will introduce you to the concept and then we'll do poses, a meditation, some affirmations and some chanting associated with Muladhara, the Root Chakra. Expect lots of grounding standing poses such as Warrior 2 (Virabhadrasana II), Goddess Pose (Utkata Konasana), Tree Pose (Vrksasana) plus the squat Garland Pose (Malasana) and seated poses such as Seated Forward Bend (Paschimottanasana) and Wide Leg Seated Forward Bend (Upavista Konasana). Please note: I mention an author who is an expert on the chakras but I didn't say her name - if you are interested in learning more I recommend her books - her name is Anodea Judith.

Props needed: A blanket, some blocks and a yoga belt.

Mat direction: Long edge of the mat facing the screen.
